Cleanliness of hospitals in Jammu Division

“The Directorate of Urban Local Bodies, Jammu, made significant strides in promoting environmental awareness and sustainability through a series of Swachhta activities conducted from January 21st to 24th  2025, as part of the pre-Republic Day campaign — ‘Swachhtantra: Gantantra Ki Shaan, Swachhta Se Bane Mahaan.’ This extensive initiative aimed to instill a sense of civic responsibility and national pride by emphasizing cleanliness and sustainable practices.

As a key component of the campaign, special sanitation drives were organized in and around healthcare institutions under the theme ‘Sanitation for Safe Healing.’ Volunteers, Swachhata ambassadors, hospital sanitation staff, and patient attendants actively participated in these drives, ensuring that hospital premises remained clean, hygienic, and conducive to healing. Awareness sessions on infection control, biomedical waste management, and hygiene best practices were also conducted to reinforce the importance of cleanliness in healthcare settings.

Run for a Cleaner Tomorrow, Run for a Swachh J&K

Plog Runs were successfully organized across all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of the Jammu Division as part of a large-scale cleanliness drive. Public parks, tourist destinations, and a 1 km stretch of riverfronts were cleaned, reinforcing the commitment to a cleaner and greener environment. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from citizens, students, teachers, Swachhta Ambassadors, NSS volunteers, scouts & guides, and officers/officials from all ULBs. This collective effort not only promoted physical fitness but also instilled a sense of responsibility towards maintaining cleanliness in public spaces.
